Gubser Elementary students participated in Pennies for Patients benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during the month of March.  Students collected $1,006.26.  Students did a great job of giving selflessly and they really understood the mission of the Society and what the money is used for.  Thanks to the Gubser families for helping with this as well.

The top fundraising class was Kelly Hansen’s second grade class.  They raised $215.35 and won an in-class lunch awarded by the Society and Olive Garden.

Leukemia is the leading cause of cancer death among children.  An estimated 747, 465 Americans have blood cancers, and every five minutes, someone new is diagnosed.  Since 1992, millions of dollars have been raised by more than 16 million elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide.  These much needed funds support the Society’s mission: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of patients and their families.
